our society is too Diurnal, we need more Nocturnal society
I wake up when the world is going to sleep. though I feel alone in that stillness, I'm not alone in being Nocturnal. we should be able to go experience the world during Our Hours. we miss so much, or compromise our sleep schedule to experience Life. as it is now, there are barely places to exist publicly.
parks close at dark
community centers & libraries close in the evenings
most shops close before midnight
amusement areas (museums, zoos, aquariums, etc.) close early
right now the options I can think of for public spaces at night are basically:
bars/nightclubs (expectation to spend money; heavily alcohol-focused)
24 hr gyms (cost money)
very few 24 hr convience stores or pharmacies (good to get supplies; dependson location; not a space to spend time)
some theaters do have late showings (usually done by 2-3 am; cost money)
these spaces are good to have. at the same time, I want us to have more calm spaces: cafes, libraries, museums. places to Exist, without the expectation of spending money and/or drinking.
it feels Lonely
#obvs we dont need everything open at night but like come on give us a library or something please#also adhd brains are more likely to be night owls#nocturnal#night owl#adhd#actually adhd#neurodivergent

hi, i know you get a lot of health asks, but i've got one you might give better advice on than google if you have the time: i feel so tired all the time, even if i wanted to do most things, a lot of the time i spend all day lying on the couch. but i Know i could get up and at least do Something if i put my whole ass into it... so it feels like i'm just being lazy. do you have any idea if it's this hard for everyone or if i'm just not determined/motivated enough?
I'm going to tell you something I wish someone had told me a long time ago: There's no such thing as lazy.
Sometimes our brains and bodies need more rest than others, and sometimes that'll fluctuate. Sometimes we're dealing with stress which impacts our energy levels. Sometimes we're recovering from an illness, and it's taking a little longer than we'd like. Either way, when we feel like we are failing to do things, it is not because we are lazy. It's because there is something we either need, or there is something in the way, and we need help figuring out what it is.
What you are describing could be a couple of things. They range from health ailments that cause physical fatigue (anemia, sleep disorders, chronic fatigue syndrome, other vitamin deficiencies, etc, etc.) to mental health conditions that impact executive dysfunction and dopamine uptake, which can make doing things very difficult -- even things you want to do!
If you haven't had a physical of late, it might not be a bad idea to get yourself checked out to make sure you're not suffering from any deficiencies. Even being a little low in B vitamins and vitamin D can severely impact mood and energy levels. Iron and folate too.
If you feel like you're not getting restful sleep, it might also be worthwhile getting a sleep study done if you can. If you are neurodivergent or suspect you might be, it's important to note that sleep delay disorders are common with things like ADHD and Autism, and feeling tired during the day is more normal for us because our sleep cycle doesn't always adhere to a 9-5 schedule.
I'm not fully awake until the afternoon/evening because that's when my brain lights up. Used to kill me when I had a regular 9-5 job. I used to fall asleep constantly at my desk, and still do if I try to make myself work first thing in the morning. I'm a night owl, and I embrace it because I can.
Executive dysfunction is not also exclusive to things like ADHD, and many people can suffer from it either from things like depression or prolonged stress and burnout. Therapy and medication(s) can help if that is the case.
So yes. It's plenty hard for a lot of us, and you're not lazy. You just haven't figured out what you need yet.

How to tackle Fragmented Sleep/ Sleep disruptions :
This post is inspired and geared to help @thisisneededfmr .
Also to every one of those who are going through similar issues. It becomes extremely taxing when you can't sleep peacefully at night. You keep on waking up in between after some hours if not then suddenly you are half asleep which according to me is even more annoying. Being an insomniac or nightmares can make this condition even worse.
Sleep fragmentation can be described as frequent interruption or disruption in the normal sleep cycle. It can cause various chronic health issues as well as have repercussions on mental health.
Ways to tackle Fragmented Sleep:
1) Develop a sleep schedule:
Instead of being a night owl jump into your bed and try to sleep. It will be difficult at first but slowly and steadily you might fall asleep. Count numbers?? Try to sleep at the same time everyday. Because once it becomes a habit you will automatically feel sleepy.
2) Avoid Caffeine or any foods that result in hyperactivity:
Coffee is infamous for making you feel nervous and jittery. So avoid it before bedtime hours. Any kind of foods that result in a hyperactive nervous system cancel them out.
3) Practice relaxation techniques:
Listen to calming music, do breath work, meditate, read a nice book before you fall asleep. This might help in calming your nerves.
4) Exercise regularly and do yoga before sleeping:
The benefits of exercise are well known to us. I don't want to waste my time in convincing you about it. There are some specific yoga asanas you can do before sleeping and trust me it works like wonders. One of my friends when I used to live in a dorm made us do it and the sleep after that was just a chef's kiss.
5) Limit screen time before bed:
The radiations emitted by the phone or electronic devices disturb your sleep cycle. So try not to use your phone before you fall asleep. In fact at my home this is a rule we never sleep with the phones near us. They are kept at a great distance so that the quality of sleep is not disturbed.
6) Try not to do work or other activities in bed:
I read it somewhere on Tumblr long back please if anyone knows the blog kindly tag them in comments so I can give the reference here. It stated that you should only use your bed for sleeping as it will automatically signal your brain to sleep once you are in there.
7) Address your mental issues:
Most of the time sleep fragmentation is caused by psychological problems. Is there something you are trying to escape from? Or are you in a stressful environment? Depression? Anxiety? Adhd?etc you get my point right. Try to fix those issues. Your problem might be arising from there. Who knows.
8) Check your medicines if you are on any:
Literally!!! I am not kidding. It's really serious. Some medicines put your nervous system in hyperactive mode resulting in fragmented sleep. Check with your doctor and share these things with them. If the problem has started after you started the dosage maybe it's responsible for it.
From here the suggestions are based on personal experience with no scientific data to back it up. Use your own discernment.
9) Hug someone or something and sleep:
This works for me sometimes. If there's someone you are close to then try asking them if they would be okay to sleep while hugging you or holding you close. It's therapeutic. Plus it helps in relaxing the adrenaline in your body and brings you out of the survival mode.
10) Sleep in an open space:
Sometimes our bodies are not able to relax in a confined place. It's part of a phase especially if you have trauma related to closed areas. It can be triggering for your body and your brain might wake you up in between to look for danger. So sleeping in an open space like a balcony or something might work.
11) Keep a knife under your pillow:
I know this sounds ridiculous but it's a belief in our culture that doing it solves sleep related issues. Especially if you are having nightmares. And even if it doesn't work you have a knife to swing if someone attacks you in case. It's cool.
12) See a doctor:
When nothing of the above helps and even your own techniques that you might know it's high time you take professional help. It's not something you should ignore.
Being stated all that I really wish you a GOOD NIGHT SLEEP and pray that you overcome these issues. There are a lot of underlying causes that result in sleep fragmentation but the main one being Stress, Trauma, Emotional distress, etc.
So find a friend and vent it out if you are going through any negative state of mind. If you don't have anyone my ask box is always open. Drop a message and I will try to reach out to you as soon as I can.
Reminder: You are doing great given the circumstances. So keep fighting on and don't let anything have power over you.

The Plushū Diaries
This is a long post about the plushie I made as a beginner and just me venting about the process. Just skip this is you don't like long posts. Also I will probably mix up UK and US English a lot here. The usual Internet learning experience.
Canto 1- I can (not) make a plushie myself
So... As you may gather from the existence of this blog, I love Ryōshū a very normal amount. And like many other PM fans, I wanted a plushie of my best girl.
Two problems arise.
Independently made plushies made by commission are EXPENSIVE (For a very valid reason, this things take AGES to make and require a lot of work and skill.).
And
All the "Mass" produced ones by indie designers that I saw had animal ears or features, which I don't really like.
So, Sunday at around 10:00 pm, I, in all my wisdom, say to myself "I want it! So I'll make it!" I already had some material from a previous failed attempt, so might as well use them.
I dug up the doll skeleton and the body I had and stuffed that thing. By then it was already late and I had to work on Monday so, to bed I went.
Canto 2- The Real Start
By morning on the following day, I had already gotten over the Idea of making a plushie myself. Too much work. Too little skill. Like any other good little ADHD demon, I am allergic to completing my own projects and I jump from new idea to new idea too quickly to get anything done.
So, imagine my shock when at 11:00 pm I get that little itch to just make the thing. That little night owl brain magic that happens when everyone else is asleep and you are just now deciding to be productive.
So I grab the body, my embroidery thread and a bathtub of coffee and I just started.
Luckily I already had a pattern that a friend printed out for me two years ago. But then, the mistakes also started.
Mistake 1- Improv
I had no idea what I wanted to make. I had a design that I had painted In photoshop before but I didn't have that materials nor skills for that. So I made a simpler one on the spot. I don't own a printer. I don't have transfer paper. So... like a person with a very aesthetically pleasing smooth brain, I just drew the design STRAIGHT ON THE FABRIC with BRIGHT red pen.
Mistake 2 - The bright red pen
At the start it wasn't much of an issue just something to mark the design because I don't have a tearaway stabilizer.
By the end of this saga, those smooth clear lines had bled SO MUCH I could no longer tell the difference between te guide and random stains. Oh! And you can also see the guidelines from the outside of the doll. Cool.
Mistake, the third - The felt hair
This doesn't seem like a mistake, but trust me, It will haunt the narrative.
Mistake forever after - Hubris
It took... around 1 hour to line up everything correctly on the embroidery ring? Why? Because I am stupid, that's why.
During this first day I decided that I didn't need to use pins. I could just put it on the ring by eyeballing it. How bad can it be?
I was a fool. There's a reason why professionals use them, and there's a reason why some people sew some pieces temporarily during certain steps of the process before finally attaching them together. Pins truly are unsung heroes.
Canto 3- The unembroidered
So... embroidery. Embroidery is hard. Symmetrical embroidery is hard. Symmetrical embroidery with bleeding guidelines and no stabilizer is HARD. Symmetrical embroidery with bleeding guidelines, no stabilizer and you are a total beginner is maddening.
I watched someone do it by hand on YouTube before and I tried to mimic the process as much as I could. It didn't help much. Youtube tutorials can only do so much to compensate my lack of experience.
By the time I had done one eye I was already seeing problems. My stitches were all scattered to the four winds. They were all going in different directions. Some of them were too far apart or too close to others. The lines in the back of the doll were piling up and there were more knots in the thread than in your average omegaverse fic.
I went colour by colour. First black since I needed it to line the hair and it was the most used colour, then white just for the little highlights and finally red.
(Funny thing, the number of this red thread of this brand is 666 wich is kinda funny for miss hellscreen over here.)
After the red thread it finally started to look kinda decent (by beginner standards)
Canto 4 - Revenge of the felt hair
After all the embroidery was done it was finally time to get her off the ring and sew the parts together.
For those unaware, the regular soft plushie material, Minky, is really lightweight and very thin. Felt... isn't thin. And when you are sewing a plushie head with may parts and layers, all those millimeters of fabric pile up really quickly. One layer of felt is easy to pierce with a needle. Five layers? Not so much. Several needles were broken in the process of joining the front of the head with the back. I do not own a sewing machine. I did all of this shit by hand.
Thank god for the tetanus vaccine. When I say this little creature has my blood, sweat and tears, I MEAN IT.
The curse of the felt hair didn't end there.
Now that the head was done, it was time to stuff it.
Naturally, I had to rip parts of the stuffing to get it inside the head and around the skeleton. This sent bits and pieces of the thing flying everywhere. My room is FILTHY. And the felt hair got the worst of it. All those little dusts and microfibers stuck to it like a fly in a web. As I write this I am still trying to rip out bits of stuffing without damaging the felt. It is horrible. My girl is DIRTY.
(Also, plushie heads take WAY more stuffing than I thought. Holy shit.)
Finally, on the last day, it was time to attach the body to the head and sew the back of the hair. (I should have done that before but... more layers of felt. Broken needles. You know... nheeeeeee)
So, with a lot of fear in my heart I ladder stitched those bastards together and mocked up a decent enough pattern for the back of the hair. And just like that.... she is done.
Canto 5- The Plushie Defining
So... what did I learn?
Use pins. Stitch things temporarily with an obvious visible line that you can cut out after and test things before committing to a permanent stitch. If you are a beginner, like me, and are afraid to sew pieces together because you don't want to ruin your embroidered parts that you spent SO LONG working on, do this before.
Fuck felt.
Don't use a bright red pen.
Mess up. Make your plushie. Make it ugly. If you hate making bodies like me, buy one made and practice the head. Despite everything, I love my asymmetrical girl a lot. Like... I made this little bastard. She is MINE and I made her. This never stops being magical. It's a nice feeling.
And I did it without specific materials.
Some cheap threads, a body you can probably make too, some felt I found at the discount bin and random needles. That was all. No tearaway stabilizer, no sewing machine, no printer, no embroidery machine. The minky fabric is the only thing that was more of an investment. The rest is pretty accessible.
Do you know that post that says "Everything worth doing is worth doing poorly." Yeah, that applies to artistic projects. Go for it! Just... don't start with something hard like a human... Christ sake that was a nightmare.
I'm probably still gonna get a better plushie of her in the future, but for now, this is my baby.
Goodnight Tri-state area.

I should probably make a proper introduction post so here goes
Hi hey hello wassup sup howdy hola hooray
My name is Leo but I also go by *lists a ton of names because I am genderfluid as hell, can’t choose just one, have a complicated relationship with my irl name, and eventually toss aside every name I go by* here’s the link to my full name post: https://www.tumblr.com/cyberr-v0id/731097944976228352/ok-so-as-i-apparently-use-a-lot-of-names-here-are
My main blog is @cyberr-v0id but I have a ton of side blogs, because who’s gonna stop me, the side blog police? I run a ton of gimmick blogs. You might know them. You might not.
I use he/she/they/fae and occasionally it sets of pronouns, and I am a genderfluid, afab, asexual, lesbian oriented demiromantic. Deal with it or leave :)
I currently have a crush on one of my awesome friends because I only develop crushes on people I have a strong bond with and/or have know for a while . Aka: my friends. It can be low-key awkward but we roll
I am Romani but don’t travel because reasons and I am kinda detached from my culture, but heck if I won’t defend it till my last breath
Now onto what I am interested in ehhehehehe
I AM SO GOSHDARN TOTALLY BRAIN IN THE SAND EYES GOUGED OUT INSANELY OBSESSED WITH ODYSSEUS RN. ITS A PROBLEM. IT KEEPS COMING BACK. IS THIS A HYPER FIXATION??? IS THIS A SPECIAL INTEREST? I HAVENT BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH (oh wait I should probably put that down as information then come back to my interests)
Ok so, I have never been diagnosed with anything ✨brain wise✨ however pretty much every autistic person I have ever met has said that they think I might be as well, without me even bringing it up, including my AuDHD brother. My mother has said repeatedly throughout my lifetime comments such as ‘are you sure you’re not autistic’ and ‘that is very autistic or you maybe we should get you diagnosed’ but then she denies it if i bring it up
My dad thinks I am adhd, my mum thinks I would be add rather than adhd because I am, to quote, ‘not hyperactive like [brothers name] is’. He is a twelve year old boy. I am a fifteen year old girl. I also take apart all my pens in lessons if I don’t have something less destructible to fidget with. Take that how you will
I personally have done a lot of of research into the both, and feel that I could be either, but slightly more likely adhd
I have a weird issue with my feet where the bones are too close together in places, which means I have really clicky ankle joints, am much more likely to have my ankles roll, twist, or give way, and often my legs hurt pretty bad, and my feet as well, while walking or standing for a long time. But hey! They’re getting better finally :D
OK SO NOW MY INTERESTS
I AM LITERALLY SO OBSESSED WITH ODYSSEUS HE IS ALL I HACE BEEN ABLE TO THINK ABOUT FOR LIKE THREE WEEKS NOW, I HAVE BEEN HIGHLIGHTING HIS NAME EVERY TIME I SEE IT IN THE ILIAD, I HAVE LISTENED TO THE EPIC MUSICAL EVERY NIGHT FOR OVER A WEEK, AND THIS IS ONLY THE SECOND TIME THIS YEAR THAT MY OBSESSION HAS APPEARED. AND IT GETS WORSE BY THE DAY.
I HAVE LITERALLY SAT AND RESEARCHED HIM AT BREAKFAST, I HAVE RANTED ABOUT HIM YO EVERY MEMBER OF MY FRIEND GROUP AND MY CRUSH SO MANY TIMES, MY ENGLISH TEACHER HAS BEEN SUBJECTED TO TWO ODYSSEUS RANTS THIS WEEK AND I HAD TO RESTRAIN MYSELF FROM INFODUMPING ON ONE OF MY MUSICAL THEATRE TEACHERS.
THE ONLY THING STOPPING ME FROM CREATING ODYSSEUS FAN ART IS MY ART SKILLS
Ahem
Onto other interests:
• mythology in general but the one I know the most about and am obsessed with the most is Greek mythology
• the owl house
• Percy Jackson, obviously
• amphibia
• the inheritance cycle
• the dragon prince
• miss peregrines home for peculiar children
•avatar the last air bender
•dragon age absolution
• how to train your dragon (books, films, series)
•the wizards of once
•dragons themself as a thing
•folklore and faeries
• nimona
•Dracula
•redwall
•and a heck ton more that I cannot think of. I’ll rant about it eventually if I love it that much
The main sports I do rn are archery, paddle boarding, and skateboarding, as well as dance through my musical theatre group. Also lightsaber fighting in my street
I do art and writing and reading and acting and lots more I do a lot and then I abandon my hobbies for a while, and jewelry making and sewing and
I’ll link some more posts here that may be useful to y’all:
And remember, this blog is ran by an Odysseus obsessed teen above all else

how do i talk to my parents about taking my adhd more seriously? i feel like they dont really understand how much i really effects my life and my mom has said my "adhd isnt really a disability" and its very stressful sometimes
Hi @pyrophilexd
I’m so sorry your parents aren’t that educated about ADHD. But not to worry, I found sources you can show them and how it affects your daily life. There will be long excerpts, so I apologize if this is really long.
Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a chronic, debilitating disorder which may impact upon many aspects of an individual’s life, including academic difficulties,1 social skills problems,2 and strained parent-child relationships.3 Whereas it was previously thought that children eventually outgrow ADHD, recent studies suggest that 30–60% of affected individuals continue to show significant symptoms of the disorder into adulthood.4 Children with the disorder are at greater risk for longer term negative outcomes, such as lower educational and employment attainment.5 A vital consideration in the effective treatment of ADHD is how the disorder affects the daily lives of children, young people, and their families. Indeed, it is not sufficient to merely consider ADHD symptoms during school hours—a thorough examination of the disorder should take into account the functioning and wellbeing of the entire family.
As children with ADHD get older, the way the disorder impacts upon them and their families changes (fig 1⇓). The core difficulties in executive function seen in ADHD7 result in a different picture in later life, depending upon the demands made on the individual by their environment. This varies with family and school resources, as well as with age, cognitive ability, and insight of the child or young person. An environment that is sensitive to the needs of an individual with ADHD and aware of the implications of the disorder is vital. Optimal medical and behavioural management is aimed at supporting the individual with ADHD and allowing them to achieve their full potential while minimising adverse effects on themselves and society as a whole.
How Does ADHD Affect Overall Health?
ADHD & Sleep:
Why So Many Night Owls Have ADHD
Delayed sleep phase syndrome, defined by irregular sleep-wake patterns and thought of as a circadian rhythm disorder, is common in ADHD. The ADHD brain takes longer — about an hour longer on average (remember, that’s just an average) — to fall asleep than does the non-ADHD brain. That’s why it’s not uncommon for us to stay up late at night, and regret it in the morning.
Poor-Quality Sleep Worsens ADHD Symptoms
Suffering a sleep deficit with ADHD is like waking up to ADHD times two — or five. Lack of sleep slows a person’s response time, processing speed, and decision-making. We’re not as alert or as focused when we’re tired. We become crabby and inflexible. We imitate three of the Seven Dwarfs: Dopey, Sleepy, and Grumpy. Lack of sleep is a self-fulfilling prophecy; it only continues to throw our circadian rhythm off kilter and cause more dysregulated sleep.
ADHD & Nutrition and Eating Habits
Why ADHD Brains Chase Dopamine
The dopamine-deficient ADHD brain seeks this chemical in many places, from tobacco to junk food. Caffeine also boosts dopamine levels in the brain. And it’s always tempting to reach for simple carbs, since they rapidly break down into sugar and stimulate dopamine release.
ADHD Symptoms Influence Eating Behaviors
Symptoms like impulsivity and inattention easily invite dysregulated eating, which may lead to unintended weight gain. In fact, studies link ADHD to excess weight and obesity5 — which is linked to other conditions ranging from fatty liver, high blood pressure, and metabolic syndrome. Relatedly, research also links ADHD to Type 2 diabetes.
Are Other Health Conditions Linked to ADHD?
From autoimmune diseases and skin conditions to hypermobility and pulmonary disease, a string of other health conditions have been linked to ADHD. Take a moment to think about how ADHD impacts your diet, health, and overall wellness.
How Does ADHD Affect Education and Careers?
Adverse School Experiences with ADHD Are Common
Our experiences in school often foreshadow our careers and other aspects of our lives. Did ADHD prevent you from graduating high school or from enrolling in or finishing college, as it did for so many of us? Or did ADHD help you excel in school? Did you have to navigate school with a learning difference like dyslexia or dysgraphia, as 45% of children with ADHD do?
What Is ADHD?
ADHD stands for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. It’s caused by brain differences that affect attention and behavior in set ways. For example, people with ADHD are more easily distracted than people who don’t have it. ADHD can make it harder to focus, listen well, wait, or take your time.
Having ADHD affects a person at school, at home, and with friends.
The signs of ADHD start early in childhood. But some people don’t find out they have it until they are older. It all depends on when ADHD keeps them from doing well, and when they see a doctor about it.
No matter when a person finds out they have ADHD, the right treatment can help them do better in all parts of their life. Having great support from parents, teachers, and friends helps too.
What Are the Signs of ADHD?
People with ADHD might:
have trouble listening and paying attention
need lots of reminders to do things
get distracted easily
seem absent-minded
be disorganized and lose things
not sit still, wait their turn, or be patient
rush through homework or other tasks or make careless mistakes
interrupt a lot, and talk or call out answers in class
do things they shouldn't, even though they know better
get upset easily
feel restless, fidgety, frustrated, and bored
Teachers will notice signs like these in the classroom. And parents will notice signs like these at home. You may notice signs like these in yourself. If you do, talk to a parent or teacher about it.
Share this information and articles to your uneducated parents. They need to understand and know how this disorder affects daily life. And it’s also genetic. So if you have ADHD, I’m sure your parents might too.
I hope this can help you and your parents. Thank you for the inbox. I hope you have a wonderful day/night. ♥️

You guys wanted it. So here's my post for how I view the og doom Syndicate.
Starting with everyone favorite skeletal pimp, Psycho Delic!
Psycho Delic/Freddie West was born in the poorest area of Metro City. He had one older brother named Calvin who he had but of a rocky relationship with Freddie being a bright eyed man conflicting with Calvin's pessimistic out view on life. Despite the terrible condition, Freddie found himself engaged in the world of science. Mostly of biology and chemistry.
It took all his mother and father's might along with Freddie doing jobs to get him into college. The parents never thought to ask Freddie what kind of jobs he was doing.
Freddie found himself secretly studying some of the drugs he dealt out. Especially the effects it has on people. It sometimes reminded him of how insects used pheromones to communicate and persuade other insects. Then it clicked for him.
One night in his apartment building, Freddie made two capsules and shaved off his own head. He dug those two capsules through his skull and into his brain. The capsules were designed to interlocked his brain systems to produce certain pheromones to insist positive responses from people. At first, it didn't seem to have worked because to the public, Freddie West had died of a drug overdose. His parents grieved for him while his brother was livid for what he had done to the family.
On the day of his funeral however, as the preacher was speaking, Freddie rose from the coffin in purple rotting skin. As he got up, Calvin ran up to him and punched him in the face. It caused a massive fight between the two brothers. As Freddie went back to the hospital, he realized how weak his "ability" was. Freddie had to dive in deeper.
He dropped out of college and became a full time drug dealer. This time dealing more extreme stuff like cocaine and heroin. All the while he was experimenting on himself to enhance his own pheromones. Which he turned pheromones into gas. This gas could now change on the dime to anything he wants. From hallucinations to death to a potent aphrodisiac. He could disappear at will. He became a living boogeyman. Freddie garnered himself a new name, Psycho Delic.
Of course drugs weren't the only thing he was interested in. Psycho was also well known in the club. He loved the music, the drugs, the alcohol, and well, the sex in the night. Psycho made himself bit of a pimp. Add some extra cash on the side to fund his little experiments. Psycho wasn't the only with his power. Though less powerful as his, the pimp made himself a little band with four of his goons: Ace, Spades, Clubs, and Uno. Along with a bit of help from a maestro from down the street. They made Psycho Delic and the Fumes.
With all of his dipping in new territory and the notoriety of such a man like him: the cops soon found out. While he had deposed of them, he had a much harder time with Metro City's golden boy, Metroman. Psycho Delic was finally locked up with a lifetime sentence in prison. Though in there, he found some fellow friends to help bust themselves out and to take down Metroman.
Other things to note:
A man so deep in the closet, he doesn't realize he's bisexual.(I am so sorry, men.)
He has an ant farm and has somehow named all of the ants in there.
The cane isn't just there for the aesthetics, dude actually needs it. It happened after he was revived from death. He still isn't quite sure what happened but his leading theory is that managed to a hit nerve system relating to his right leg that caused to not work right.
Fortunately for every single resident of Metro City, he is infertile. Doesn't even have anything to do with the drugs or his superpowers, he just is.
Btw Calvin ends up becoming a super hero/spy. His name? Agent Citrus.(I don't like Grimreeker as a name and Agent Orange is... yeah.)
Psycho may have Adhd. If he is not overstimulated, he will complain and make a fuss about it. He's also a night owl and has skipped breakfast one too many times.
Next up is Destruction Worker!!!
Clara Magucci or David Magucci in her younger years. She was born and only child and boy to her parents without any hands. Clara had some trouble in school as a double amputee but her parents managed to get her prosthetics for her. They lived very well as upper middle class. Her mother was very doting on her while her father was emotionally absent from her and her mother's life. Otherwise her life in school was fine she could guess. She ended up having an interest in construction and engineering and graduated a nearby college with a major in construction and a minor in engineering.
She ended up working under the company Vanderbolt Industries for a man named Arnold Vanderbolt. It was as horrible as you can get with a job like that. The pay was almost non existent and conditions were terrible and sometimes Clara wonder what the fuck was going on inside that man's head. Even as the supervisor for the construction crew, she was still paid very little. She could quit, find another construction company to work with. But that wasn't satisfying was it? There was a tiny piece of her mind that wanted to start stirring the pot. Maybe she did.
She gathered all her fellow coworkers to start unionizing. Practically everyone agreed and when it started, Arnold was furious. He did everything in the book and yet Clara and her union crew managed to work around it. It was a vicious cycle of cat and mouse where the bottom line was greed. Clara had enough of the game. Everything was going nowhere and the union was always back to square one. So one day, she took her engineering minor to good use and made herself some new hands.
She and her crew went back to the latest Arnold was protecting with his life and it's his life it would be. She made one final attempt at a deal and he immediately refused. Saying something about company's income or whatever. Oh well it was his lost. Clara revved up one of her new hands, one equiped with a saw and starting cut through the supports of the building. She warned her crew to stay back. Arnold was stuck on the upper floors of the building. As the last support beam was left, the unfinished build came crashing down. Clara and the union were left with little to no scratches with Vanderbolt dead on the concrete ground and a pole through his eye. Yet she didn't feel any remorse or guilt. Just satisfaction. She exclaimed her deed to Metro City as proud as one can be and got the sights of its hero.
Clara soon found herself a new job as the super villain, Destruction Worker. She visited the pound regularly with each attempt at destroying either Vanderbolt's or any other corrupted companies money and resources. She managed to escape many times though not as regularly as Megamind.
Eventually one day, the stars aligned to find her talking with the terror of Metro City, Psycho Delic. She, Psycho and the other three villains became the Doom Syndicate. Combining their plans together to take down Metro Man.
It was great to have someone at your side in both villainy and normalcy. It was with this time that as Clara got to know these people that she realized. She might not be a man.
After days and days of thinking and denial, she almost gave up villainy. She was still associated with the Doom Syndicate. She wouldn't trade for anything. Instead she hid in the shadows and became the team's repair woman. She was scared of what would happen if anyone knew what Destruction Worker became.
In the end though, the worker of destruction came back. After all, villains do have to stick with one another.
Other facts:
Trans Lesbian. One of the few things I really liked about the new show.
Clara's a grease monkey. She loves cars and especially monster trucks. You'll have to blamed it on her father being a car mechanic.
No villain wants to talk with their parents. Clara especially. She knows how her mother would react to her transition. It'll be poorly.
She and Judge Sludge are great friends. Their favorite activities include arm wrestling and actual wrestling.
In fact her, Hot Flash, and Judge Sludge are really close. Hot Flash and Destruction Worker like to blow shit up for funsies.
Hot Flash, coming at you with a fire ball!
Her name was Cinderella Brooks and that is a terrible name she had figured. To the point that everyone called her Cindy. Her childhood was normal. She had a couple of siblings and well meaning parents. Her mother was a stay at home mom and was seen cooking a lot. Young Cindy loved her Mama's cooking and when she got older, Cindy followed in her mother's footsteps. To her own detriment.
Cindy married a wealthy man in the city of Metro City, Carlos Fritz. He was a well known mob boss in the city and his name spoke terror in the people. At first, Cindy liked the lifestyle. She gets to cook as Carlos does all the nasty work out there and pays the rent. Over time, it soured. Carlos was vindictive and controlling. Cindy just wanted some freedom, was it all that bad?
Apparently it was, as one day, Cindy found herself pregnant. Even better with a boy, Carlos said. He always wanted a heir to his little throne over Metro City. She raised the boy, Michael. She cared for him as Carlos grew even worse and colder.
In the end, it all came to a boil point. She couldn't handle it anymore. She left Carlos and took some of his money and Michael with her. She restarted her life and picked up some ingredients to create her own diner. Metro City Diner. It was a something. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst. It was middle of road. It got her and her son by.
The years went by with her son growing to be in middle school and it felt right finally for the first one her life. She felt fine.
Then it came crashing down upon her once more. Diagnosed with brain cancer, the Doctor said. She had to scrape by her funds from her restaurant and she wasn't even quite she would make it. She wouldn't, of course she wouldn't. Just when it was all going right. She decided to find something to make through at least another year of her life. To help her son out. She wouldn't want to leave in the care of his father.
Someone came up to her. A doctor in her little diner. He heard her pleads and by his kindness, wanted to help. More then help, he would heal her. She accepted. It sound too good to be true but God damn it what else would she have? Over the span of only two months, this doctor, Dr.Hoover managed to cure her. He managed to heal her. She-
Her head was on fire. Her head was one fire yet she didn't feel any pain. "Interesting," he noted, "Nobody survived my procure yet here you are with the ability to spawn fire."
Her life continues but her restaurant does not. In her veins, she wants to burn. She wants to lit the fire in her heart that left off dimmed for too long...
Her son graduates as his mother is now known as Hot Flash.
Other stuff about her:
She can't keep her head on fire for too long or else it'll start actually burning. She doesn't have a full proof resistance against fire but she is more than willing to put up with fire than anyone else.
She's prob bi. She doesn't really mind hanging out with girls like that.
She could cook a mean grill.
Her and Psycho Delic have the most resistance to spicy food to the point that it is comical. They could eat a ghost pepper and be fine while the rest of the group are dying.
Her son is dude monkey.
She is the most sane of the group. Has to restrain Delic, DW, and Conductie from doing dumb shit. Judge just watches.
She is friends with Judge Sludge. They're favorite past time is watching the Metro City's harbor go by.
Judge Sludge has come to make his call.
Joseph Ridgeway was a normal man with a normal life. He might've had a hard childhood with constant building but he never let that stopped from what he wanted in life. To serve justice. He became a lawyer than a judge in Metro City. He had a wife and two kids. He was the prime example of a hard working American man.
So nobody expected to see as a pile of disgusting pile of sludge years after he died. But he never did either. He wanted his body to be donated to science. He never specified who would grab any of his parts which Is how Dr.Hoover got his brain. That doctor had an idea to revive the man. To stimulate the brain to think it was alive in a normal body. Slime was the perfect mold to recreate the man. Years went by as Dr.Hoover made him alive again.
As Joseph saw himself to be... this. He was a monster. He left to find his living family. Obviously, the public went ballistic seeing the living sludge to which they called upon Metroman to take it to prison.
Joseph didn't understand. It was him! It was him, Joseph! Even as slime, they would have recognized him, right?
Joseph stayed in prison for a long time. He was scared to go outside. He felt hatred at how easy the public was to betray him. Where was the justice for him when he had delivered it so many times? The prison mates might have felt bad for him, but they wouldn't understood them like those four did.
Four supervillains, all with their own pasts of judgement and sorrow. All of them with hate towards the so called hero of Metro City. He wanted to help them. He joined them with the alias of Judge Sludge.
He hated Metroman's phoniness, a false idol in the image of justice.
And he'll hate Megamind even more for his betrayal for the people of Metro City.
Judge Sludge was the entire reason the Doom Syndicate was back and even better than before.
More about the Judge:
Cishet but Aro. He doesn't realize that his entire relationship with his wife was just queerplatonic. She was his bestest friend.
Her name was Stella and sometimes the other members can hear him mutter her name in his sleep. Along with other miscellaneous but very less important stuff.
He doesn't sleep normally like a human. He has to sleep in a bucket.
He is the oldest one of the group no matter where you look. Judge Sludge in his current form was meant to resemble himself in his 50s.
His sludge is only toxic if he throws it up. He can only throw up so much until he has to stop otherwise he actually start taking slime off himself.
Psycho Delic does experiments on Judge's request. Neither have any idea on what the fuck Judge Sludge is made of but it has some similarities with gelatin.
He has autism because I can. Much more relaxed type of Autism. His special interest is sea vessels. Used to have a billion of them when he was human.
Lastly but not least, The Conductor!
Ludwig Greenaway was born under the Greenaway's household, one of the richest families in Metro City along with the Scotts. Their rivalry was unmatched by anyone in the city. It was only made worse when their children was born on the same day or landed if you were Wayne Scott.
Ludwig was faced with harsh criticism from his parents. They wanted their son to be better than that Wayne Scott. But that child knew that his parents wanted Wayne to be their child. Wayne was powerful, more than a normal child. No matter how many ballet sessions he could take or how many instruments he could play. Ludwig could never match literal godhood in form of a child his own age.
He was small, petite, and weak. He wanted to be a conductor because at least he would have some control over something he liked. Not to be controlled by his parents to be their doll. He didn't want to be a superhero unlike Wayne or Metroboy.
His parents didn't care. They saw greatness in Wayne. They saw how the Scotts were adorned and loved by the people for their little boy. They had to follow. They found a man. A man who had an idea to give their child superpowers. They just had to take a few risks.
Later that night, Mr. and Mrs. Greenaway had to watch to their son thrashed in the water until they resurfaced him.
The doctor, through the most wondrous creation revived their child from death. He had a power, they all realized. He could control lightning. He could control the electricity in their technology.
But it wasn't enough. He passed out from his first usage of his powers. They had to make it better. They had to make them stronger.
Over the years, he saw himself infiltrated again. And again. Like a someone's high school project. A sick fantasy of both family and medicine. Most of his own body soon wasn't his. They'll patch up anything rotting away. His spine wasn't bone anymore but cold hard steel of the floor he sat and rested upon.
He wasn't quite sure what happened. How he escaped was a mystery to him. His parents were still alive, so the doctor must've died. One out of four. Definitely not enough. They had to pay. They'll all pay.
He took on two new names for himself. Danny Frankenstein and The Conductor to the citizens of Metro City.
He made it by with the money he stole from the rich. It wasn't pretty, it wasn't glamorous. But it wasn't like he cared. He cared about his reputation. The thundering Maestro of Metro City. He couldn't land a single hit on Metro Man but somehow, he'll make that God's empire crumble under him.
And with that infamy, he had some of the other infamous come to him. A man made of purple skin and smoke. Psycho Delic intrigued him. He came to him for lyrics for a band he wanted to create. It was stupid but it excited him. Psycho excited him. All the things he could do at the tip of his hands. He was lucky that when he went to jail again that Psycho did too.
He might've been the leader of their little posse but Conductor knew that one day, Freddie would be in the palm of his hand.
About the Conductor:
Gay, he's gay. I don't want to stereotype but have you looked at him-
He has pituitary dwarfism. It wasn't passed on but more of a genetic mutation he gotten.
To imagine what Conductor is like. Imagine Sander Cohen from BioShock but a little bit more sane. Only a little bit more sane.
Conductor can play the piano and the violin.
Conductor is the youngest. Being only in his early 30s. (To compare, Psycho in his mid 30s with Hot Flash and Destruction Worker in the 40s.)
Conductor also has super speed. But it isn't Metro Man's super speed. Conductor can only do it in short bursts and has a hard time turning around. It drains a lot of his energy; so he only does it when He needs it like running away or hitting a target immediately.
Conductor hates the beauty standard. He prefers the inherited beauty of differences and ugliness. Which is why he has a massive obsession with Psycho Delic. Psycho's spotted purple skin and baldness has captived him.

Hey, this is around the time of night when your cat used to stomp on you and wake you up. Let's feel awful about her being dead for a while instead of sleeping. You can also worry about your kid sleepwalking if you want. What if you got a dog and taught it to use those speech buttons to communicate and tell you when she was sleepwalking? Can dogs sleepwalk? Hey remember that Red Hot Chili Peppers song you haven't thought about in 20 years? Can you remember the lyrics? Not really... Remember that list of Romani loan words in English? How many can you remember? Only like 5... And only one of them really made it into American English. I know there are more than that... How many words of Welsh do you know? Does Duolingo have Welsh? I hate that stupid owl. It's so emotionally manipulative. What if you were a witch? But not like a cartoon one, like a real one. I wonder what real witches actually do? You would probably have been accused of witchcraft back in the day... or maybe just demonic possession or whatever. Here are some cool ideas for decorating Halloween cookies tomorrow! Remember "Crocodile Rock"? You hate that song. Let's sing it! Ooh, but make it a mash-up with the Chili Peppers song that you don't really know the words to and also never really liked. And later in as many words as you can remember verbatim of that interview with Trevor Noah where he was reenacting an ADHD tangent that his brain went on when his friend was talking about an issue with their shower. You should probably tell your psychiatrist about this when you update her about the new ADHD medication you're on... I don't think it's working super well. Maybe that's what's making me wake up at like 4am every night? Shit, it's beenike 2 and a half hours. My alarm is about to go off. I should try to remember everything I just thought about instead of sleeping, in order, in as much detail as possible.
My brain, reaching a new level of meta-ADHD and anxiety. So glad I did this instead of sleeping.

ATTENTION MUTUALS!
Here are a few things you should know about me.
1. Due to a multitude of factors, including but not limited too naturally being a night owl, severe Insomnia, ADHD, OCD, and Generalized anxiety and paranoia, coupled with with my meds that I take to be a decent human bean/space orc, I will semi regularly spend twenty four to seventy hours awake at a time. For me this is normal. I do my best to alert people when this happens so I can get the help I need. However if I am being more of an arse then normal, that probably means I am sleep drunk, and that you should take what I am posting or messaging with a lot of salt, and you need to tell me to get off social media and get some rest.
1b. During those times, I can occasionally achieve a meditative state more restful than sleep, if that happens I may or may not get back on Tumblr.
2. If I am being an ass hole, let me know. I probably don't realize it due to sleep drunkenness, or a general lack of self awareness. I do not like being an ass hole, and if you let me know I am being one, I will do my best to fix it.
3. I am Male, he him they them, I am bisexual but heteroromantic, and I am happily engaged. If I ask you what you identify as, I am not being rude (intentionally) but trying to determine what boundaries I should make for our interactions so everyone is comfortable and happy. I will never ask you your sexuality except as a joking comment. PLEASE do not tell me your sexuality I do not want to know.
3b. Also, unless I ask, please do not tell what specific time it is for you, just tell me if it is morning, noon, afternoon, evening, night, late night, or (my personal favorite) Too Fucking Early.
4. I am in the western US, if I am messaging you, or commenting on your stuff and you need to sleep or work, tell me and I will lay off the posting. I have a very poor sense of relational time, and usually don't realize what time it is for you. More often than not it is mid morning to late evening for me.
And lastly
5. Occasionally I will hyperfixate on "THE THING". what that thing may be is almost completely random, but it follows certain patterns. So if you or your character or your universe is that thing, be flattered it means my brain likes the way it/you make it think so it needs as much of "THE THING" as it can possibly get. If gets to be annoying, let me know. Yes I will take it poorly, but it is my fiancee and therapist who could to/have to deal with it not you. (Usually.)
That is all, thank you.

3:Do you feel more connected to the moon or the sun? As of lately, the moon. I’m a night owl now. People are more alive and true to themselves / vulnerable at night.
14:Talk about one of your most cherished childhood memories? I’m very nostalgic of going to blockbuster with my grandpa to pick out a game some popcorn and candy and then spending hours upon hours of playing them. (Pokémon, Nickelodeon themed movie:/show games.) also very fond of playing sonic adventure on the Dreamcast. It was my fav game along with Nintendo 64’s bomberman hero, crash bandicoot, banjo kazooie, star fox, Diddy kong racing…among many others PlayStation and gameboy advance, GameCube all that shit I’d get so lost in. Games were my getaway and had me distracted as fuck compared to the hell that surrounded me. It was my paradise. I latched onto them heavy along with millions of movies. I still cling to them more so movies than games but I’m starting to get back into gaming. God, I get so lost in movies though. I love them so much. They teach you so many things about life, about others, about yourself. It’s so interesting. I remember playing the orange vhs tapes of rugrats on the vcr. Lol. I also miss going to birthday parties as a child. I never ever had a birthday party of my own. I I always spent my birthdays alone and with “family” I always wanted a party and loved the lil colorful goodiebags with kaleidoscope shit in them. Heavily enjoyed those things. I was actually thinking about them today haha. I know it asked for one. I’m so fucking sorry I always have so much to say my adhd sucks major dick…. I’m always passionate about things so fucking detailed I hate it even though it’s considered a great trait it can be annoying to some…. :(( I wish my brain wasn’t like this lol…

💞 9, 13, 14, 17, 18, 27 💞
hiiiii lovely ♥ hope your day is as wonderful as yourself
9. What do you consider your biggest accomplishment?
"beating" anxiety and depression and my beating I mean I got to a point where I can deal with them very well and I can now actually do all the things I always dreamed about ♥
13. How do you de-stress?
sleep, garden, lie in the hammock, go outside ( preferrably to the woods but anywhere with some green works ), long showers, taking time to be by myself and do skincare, and also gaming
14. What are your favorite apps besides tumblr?
does discord count? I'm not much of a phone user tbh but my friends live in there haha 😅( I much prefer to use anything on my pc over my phone ^^ ) other than that I really enjoy pinterest - I just love looking at pretty pictures I guess, and I do use instagram and twitter to follow specific people but don't really post
17. What is something you're really good at?
zoning out haha, but for actual talents I am pretty good at listening and making people feel heard and seen; I am a pretty good cook; I'm creative and I can pretty much always find the light at the end of the tunnel ^-^ ( there's more but these were the things that came to mind )
I am very mediocre at a lot of other things but I still enjoy them 😁
18. What is something you're really bad at?
I have adhd so focussing on sth for a long time is very hard for my brain 😅 also math, math is not my friend
27. Are you an early bird or a night owl?
if your sleep schedule is weird enough you can be both! but I guess people would call it an early bird, given that I usually get up at around 4-5am; I get up earlier like 1-3am when the husband doesn't work and is home earlier 😂
thank you so much for these, beauty 🌹

CW/TW: Depression, I am safe, just wanted to vent in some way. It’s just heavy. Let’s put it at that. Large post, sorry.
I think the weirdest thing about being on a new thing of meds (bupropion) was how it made me realize how HEAVY my brain was. The moment I took it, my thoughts weren’t loud anymore. I could just, think normally and not feel so overwhelmed by the weight, the feeling, the delirium it, sort of, caused me. I felt so, damn, relieved.
Unfortunately, for a medication that targets both depression and (supposed) ADHD, it didn’t help that I was aware of how depleted I was of motivation. The thoughts stopped yes, but it didn’t get rid of the empty pit in my stomach. I still felt, lost in a way, the anxiety was GONE but what was left was just, a depressed man.
I have basically been doing bad in college minus the two classes I did try to accomplish (before I took bupropion), but I don’t think my GPA will be pretty for a while. I felt disappointed that I was in a chokehold. I still think I am some days. I feel so disappointed because up until middle school, everything clicked, worked, made sense. Mid 8th grade broke me somehow, and I never recovered since. I just gave up, still did decent but it was a mix of fear and anxiety that could only push me until high school came. College, being older now, made me realize how, screwed my brain was, even when I didn’t see it full. All I knew was the mental pain and how heavy it was on me.
Despite how numbing it is to see my bad grades for college, it’s somehow also made me feel so happy. That I don’t have to try to be perfect and that I could, fail, in some way. It’s not good of course not, it’s money time and everything and the cherry on top being wasted, but I just, feel kinda happy because of the ability to have a second chance, in a way. That I could recover and get back on my feet, even if it would hypothetically take another thing of resources. I’ll get back up, somehow.
I think in short, I’m starting to see how much I built to be a perfectionist and how it destroyed me mentally, even when all I had were grand ideas, failing them made me feel broken. How EXTREMELY low motivated I am now because of the depression. …I’d like to think that I’m trying. Even if it’s small things, like drawing. I’m finding it again. I wish I could go back and hug myself for a night. But, we haven’t built time machines yet and I still need a few more years under my belt of college to start tinkering with time and space continuums, haha
I still use some copes, doom scrolling, watching the good old Mr. Owl Man (Vanoss), consuming more media of my favorite fandoms. I, at least, know that the medication has started to help in some way.
One day, I want to be able to draw my feelings out. The experiences and capture the emotion, the sort of out of body experience that took most of my life for 10 years and show how outer I’ve felt for in it. I’m in my head less now, even if I’m still using some bad habits,
The quiet never felt right for me, I was always afraid of it. I couldn’t hear it, until now. It’s more homey than I thought and I’m starting to let it sink into me, make it home again. I always talked outloud at night to ignore the smothering paranoia. These days I don’t have to fill that house with smoke and perfumes now. My senses thank me for airing them out, haha

I have been thinking a lot about vampires and my recent ADHD diagnosis and now I’m thinking about vampirism as a metaphor for ADHD (though I’m sure I’m not the first person to make this comparison)
(Warning for personal mental health rambling and suicide mentions) (also blood bc vampires)
The bulk of it is the constant…aching. The world feels like sandpaper on my brain, always and forever, unless I have something distracting me or keeping me focused.
(Or possibly if I get medication. Which I have not yet because did you know Adderall and other stimulant ADHD meds are straight up banned in Japan bc it’s potentially abusable?!?!? I had no idea the laws were THAT fucking draconic bc I’m not really a drug person personally. Like obviously I knew about pot being illegal but ADDERALL?? I’m 100% certain based on personal experience with suicide ideation caused by chronic understimulation that this is a factor in Japan’s high suicide rate!!!! I literally get suicidal when I’m hungry and I’m sure that’s due at least in part to the emotional disregulation and difficulty identifying emotions/triggers, although I need to discuss that with my psychiatrist next time!)
Lots of vampire stories/lore touch on the hunger for blood in kind of similar terms, or at least in ways that aren’t too far off.
A deep down, uncontrollable and insatiable longing, a drive that can cause you to fixate on achieving a goal that you think will satisfy you, yet every success has a hollowness at its core bc you KNOW that satiation is temporary?
A drive that can be destructive and detrimental to you and everyone around you if you’re not careful or always mindful?
A need that can be overpowering, intoxicating, pushing you to temptation and impulse, or subtle and pervasive and creeping in the background?
Familiar, right?
At least vampires know there’s one answer that will satisfy them every time, even if it’s temporary. People with ADHD have to jump from stimulus to stimulus, spending so much energy just searching for a solution, never knowing what might do the trick.
Or having something that works today be a useless dried out husk tomorrow.
Then there’s the tendency of ADHD folks to be night owls—not always of course, but I think it’s relatively common? Or at least having irregular/unaligned-to-broader-society sleep schedules. Oh, and schedules, who ever heard of a vampire with schedules? (Don’t @ me I’m sure there are plenty of examples in media 😂, but I’m talking your stereotypical pop culture Dracula [and not to actual book Dracula since that guy actually seems to have had a schedule or at least an agenda lol])
Discworld vampires who take up the Black Ribbon (a vow to not drink human blood for those who don’t know) do it by switching their fixation on drinking blood to something else—explicit textual examples being light (in practice photography)(Otto Chriek my beloved) and coffee (don’t let the beans run out). I think you can argue this as more of a special interest than hyperfixation, but they’re along similar lines.
You can also talk about the social isolation. It’s not always true but plenty of people with ADHD have a hard time in general society bc the way we think doesn’t align. Vampiric isolation tends to be more along the lines of not wanting to live near something that could and would kill you so obviously not a one to one there, but there’s also lots of media that depict sympathetic vampires who WANT to be part of society “normally” but can’t bc people don’t understand them and thus don’t want them around.
I don’t really know how to end this, it’s just something I was thinking about today. I’ve always liked vampires as a concept but never thought about the need for blood as the main appeal—but maybe subconsciously I was relating to it?
Idk I’m dizzy and tired and want the sandpaper to go away. I’m gonna go play around with my vampire OC lol
#ramblings#adhd and vampires#you can tell by the use of parentheses that I have adhd lol#too tired to edit and like. mask that#anyway don’t take any of this too seriously it’s personal anecdotes

Munday - About the Mun v.03
Name // Soul
Pronouns // She/Her
preference of communication // Tumblr DMs. For mutuals, you may ask for my Discord 👌
experience in rp & how long // I’ve been online rping for 12+ years now. Usually I rp as OC’s or my own interpretations of canon characters. I’ve been in multiple fandoms over the years.
platforms you’ve used // Deviantart, Tumblr, Twitter, and Discord. Tumblr was my preferred before all the dumb changes were made (it’s a pain to be a mobile rper primarily otl). I’ve enjoyed returning here however. Discord I use with mutuals.
name of most active muse // Silver, my OC Nephilim on this blog.
best experience // It’s difficult to pick just one, especially with how many wonderful people I’ve interacted with over the years. My most memorable ones will always be with my first online friend and RP partner, @silverfire113 . You welcomed into your incredible worlds and have helped me grow so much with writing and creating characters 💙
rp pet peeves // People that expect to auto ship and/or want to interact for the sake of shipping. Back in the Undertale and FNAF SB fandoms where I rp’d my own versions of canon characters, 7/10 interactions were romantic seeking. Or treating my canon muse like they already knew each other (mostly OC’s). This honestly drove me away from public rping and strictly to Discord for over a year. I don’t mind shipping, I love shipping! But please I’d love for our characters to get to know each other first and build chemistry. Sometimes there are ones that click very quickly, but in the end a discussion between muns is always appreciated!
fluff, angst, or smut // It really depends on my mood. I love a good balance between fluff or crack, and angst. They feed my gremlin braincell and give so much dopamine~ As for smut, ye there are times I’m in the mood for that.
plots or memes // Usually memes are the best place to start with me! It’s free-style writing/improv. Anything and everything can happen haha. I do love a good plot, especially after getting the vibe of how my RP partner and I work together in the meme threads.
long or short replies // BOTH!! I can do crack RP with as short as a sentence or two, to paragraph semi-lit style with detailings. There are days my brain has overloaded and can only do short, and then absolutely flourish and thrive in longer rps. I mainly match whatever my RP partner does.
best time to write // Evenings hours. I’m a night owl and can stay up well into the late morning hours when really into an RP. During the day I’m usually at work or have appointments and chores to attend to.
are you like your muse // The majority of my muses (especially ocs) have some piece of me in them. Normally it’s my goofy humor and adhd, but I will also implement other elements of me. For instance, Silver in her human!verse works at a bookstore. I myself am a librarian. I like to think I’ve given her some of my determined and resilient natures, just to more extreme circumstances.

The ADHD Night Shift: Navigating Challenges and Strategies for Better Sleep
Navigating the world with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) can feel like steering through a storm. The relentless waves of distraction, impulsivity, and hyperactivity are known to disrupt work, relationships, and life in general. What many don’t realize, however, is that this tumult often stretches its arms over the hours we should spend in peaceful slumber. In this article, we'll explore the intricate relationship between ADHD and sleep, how they dance together, and why it seems like someone hit the fast-forward button on your mind the moment your head hits the pillow.
Clocking in on ADHD and Sleep Disruption
Sleep disturbances are as common to ADHD as chalk is to cheese. Research shows that up to 70% of children and 50% of adults with ADHD have significant challenges related to sleep, such as insomnia, delayed sleep phase disorder, or other difficulties that prevent a restful night.
The Paradox of the Tired But Wired Brain
It's a cruel paradox of the tired but wired brain. You’re exhausted, your body longs for rest, yet your mind races, often reviewing every detail of the day or planning for the next in an endless loop.
Hyperarousal and Difficulty Shifting Gears
ADHD brains often linger in a state of hyperarousal, a condition where it’s challenging to shift gears down to a relaxed state. For some, this can manifest as a need for physically restless behavior moments before sleep, a sort of last-minute energy expenditure that the body craves.
Cortisol and Circadian Rhythm Disarray
Cortisol, the fight-or-flight hormone, also plays a role in the ADHD sleep saga. Individuals with ADHD sometimes show cortisol dysregulation, which can throw off the natural circadian rhythm, leading to a night owl lifestyle. This is why the 4 a.m. slump can feel like a 4 p.m. caffeine surge – your body is being upended by an internal clock at odds with the ones on your wall.
Understanding and Addressing Sleep Hygiene
Sleep hygiene is not about brushing your teeth at night, though that's good too. It’s the set of practices and habits that help create the right conditions for a good night’s rest.
The Bedtime Rituals for ADHD-ers
A consistent bedtime ritual can signal to your body that it’s time to power down. This could mean reading a book, listening to calming music, or engaging in light relaxation techniques, such as yoga or meditation.
The Role of Environment
Creating a conducive sleep environment is crucial. A cool, dark, and quiet room can work wonders. For individuals with ADHD, a white noise machine, blackout curtains, or earplugs can minimize sensory disruptions.
Diet and Exercise's Silent Impact
Diet and exercise are silent influencers of your sleep quality. Regular physical activity can help dissipate the excess energy that might otherwise keep you up at night. Likewise, a balanced diet ensures your body is fueled without being wired from excess sugar or caffeine.
Seeking Professional Help
Sometimes, despite best efforts, sleep disturbances linger like unwanted houseguests. In such cases, professional help may be necessary.
The Importance of Psychiatry in Treating Sleep Disturbances
Psychiatric treatment, especially in the realm of ADHD, often includes the assessment of sleep-related issues. Sometimes, the solution to a good night’s rest lies in addressing underlying mental health concerns or medication adjustments that consider the interaction between stimulant treatments and sleep.
Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive-behavioral therapies for insomnia (CBT-I) are strategies designed to change the thoughts and behaviors that may trigger sleep disruptions.
The Role of Sleep Studies
In more severe cases, a sleep study, or polysomnography, can provide valuable insight into specific sleep disorders like sleep apnea or restless leg syndrome, which can co-occur with ADHD and worsen sleep quality.
Medication and ADHD Sleep Management
Medication can be a double-edged sword in treating ADHD, with some stimulants known to cause sleep disruptions. Yet, for many, these are the very medications that grant clarity and focus, allowing them to function in a world that rarely slows down.
The Quest for the Right Medication
Finding the right ADHD medication is, in many cases, a process of trial and error. Some individuals may discover that non-stimulant medications are effective for ADHD symptoms while being less disruptive to sleep.
Managing Medication Timing
Discussing the timing and dosages of medications with a healthcare provider is essential. Shifting medication schedules, or avoiding doses in the latter parts of the day, can minimize the impact on sleep without sacrificing their benefits during waking hours.
Non-Medication Approaches for Sleep with ADHD
Fortunately, there are non-medication paths to explore for improving sleep, which can be integrated into a daily sleep routine.
Mindfulness and Relaxation Techniques
Mindfulness practices, such as meditation or deep breathing exercises, promote a state of relaxation that can be especially beneficial for the ADHD mind. Apps and guides designed for ADHD audiences may resonate better and prove more engaging.
Structured Day Planning
Creating and sticking to a structured plan for each day can do wonders for reducing the last-minute racing thoughts that can keep you up at night. Knowing that everything has its time and place in your day can be a potent tool against the nighttime chaos that the ADHD brain sometimes enjoys throwing.
The Strength of Rituals
Building and maintaining rituals not only signals your body for the winding down of the day but also fosters a sense of control and predictability, two aspects that ADHD brains can often find elusive in waking life.
Final Thoughts
The path to restful nights for those with ADHD can be winding and full of roadblocks. However, with an understanding of the ADHD-sleep connection and a commitment to trying different strategies, it’s possible to ease into a night’s sleep like a smooth sail into a harbor. It may take time, patience, and consistent effort, but the peace that follows a night of refreshing sleep is worth its weight in gold.
Remember, the ADHD mind is a powerful force, capable of achieving incredible heights. Ensuring that it’s well-rested is just one of the many ways to provide the stability and support it needs to soar. Whether it's adjusting medication, honing relaxation techniques, or snuggling in earlier, take the time to determine what works best for you. Your days – and the nights that follow – will thank you.
